Cerebral Palsy
Cerebral palsy is a condition that typically arises from issues affecting the development of a baby’s brain during pregnancy. These problems may include damage to the brain’s white matter due to reduced blood or oxygen supply.
While there is currently no cure for cerebral palsy, there are available treatments to support individuals with the condition. A team of healthcare professionals collaborates to create a personalized care plan for each individual.
There are five distinct types of cerebral palsy: spastic, ataxic, athetoid, hypotonic, and mixed types. Each type is characterized by a unique set of symptoms, and it is possible for children to exhibit symptoms of more than one type of cerebral palsy.
